Cleared Systems Engineers

Kentro is hiring a Senior Data Security Engineer (DRM) to support a major Zero Trust modernization effort at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) in Tampa, FL (hybrid). This senior technical role leads the Command’s massive data discovery, classification, and secure data rights management mission across NIPR, SIPR, and Top‑Secret networks. You will architect and deploy Active Directory Rights Management (AD‑RMS) and Azure RMS as the foundation of USSOCOM’s Data Rights Management strategy. The role includes designing advanced security policies across the Microsoft Defender suite—Purview (DLP, sensitivity labeling), Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB), Entra ID, and Conditional Access—to ensure continuous compliance and access control. You will drive data catalog integration with platforms such as Palantir, Microsoft Unified Catalog, Purview Audit, and Activity Explorer to map data movement and security state. Responsibilities include unstructured data crawling across enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), and securing cloud data across AWS S3, Azure Blobs, and Data Lakes using Purview Data Map and custom connectors. This role requires collaboration with mission owners to tune machine learning classifiers for USSOCOM‑unique data types and reduce false positives in the enterprise Global Data Inventory. Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) and large‑scale data storage (petabyte‑level) is important. Requirements: • Master’s degree and 10+ years in data security or systems engineering • Proven experience with AD‑RMS and Azure RMS • Deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, Defender for Cloud Apps, Entra ID, Conditional Access • Strong understanding of storage protocols, databases, and containerization • Active Top‑Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Preferred: KQL proficiency, SPL experience.
