Waypoint's client is seeking an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Architect to join the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Mission Command Product Office. As a key team member within the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Futures Capabilities (IFC) product cell, the Software Architect will evaluate and develop software strategies to integrate new and existing defense systems. This role is pivotal in shaping future systems integration and advancing the capabilities of air and missile defense systems.

Responsibilities:
- Lead software development teams in a large, complex software environment
- Integrate new and existing defense systems through innovative software solutions
- Prototyping and integrating new software interfaces
- Assess customer and user needs in accordance with Agile principles
- Investigate and present technology solutions to improve system performance
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in existing solutions
- Coordinate priorities and needs with Product and Solution Management teams
- Breakdown complex ideas into actionable tasks for software development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver system designs and integration solutions
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering, science, or mathematics from an accredited institution (ABET preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of combined Government/DoD experience in software development and system integration
- Strong understanding of air and missile defense concepts
- Experience with real-time systems and software development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Proven experience in leading software teams and managing complex software projects
- Expertise in problem identification and resolution for system design and integration
- Familiarity with IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS systems
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence tools
- Knowledge of DevSecOps technologies, SAFe agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Prior leadership experience in Software Architecture or Engineering
- Must be able to maintain a Secret security clearance or higher
