Our client seeks a Cisco Firewall Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. The Cisco Firewall Engineer is responsible for system administration and customer support of firewalls and network security in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Providing technical problem solving and in-depth consulting for firewall operations.
Working as part of a team responsible for administration and management of firewalls, end-user network security, and potentially clustered systems operating in both unclassified and classified network environments.
Analysis, design, and implementation of modifications to the firewall software in order to improve system performance, correct errors, or fulfill specific needs.
Participating in planning new hardware acquisitions, developing operating policy, interacting with vendors, educating customers, and communicating and collaborating with other projects within the organization.
Working closely with scientists and engineers to help them use firewalls and network security solutions to protect their computationally intensive projects.
Supporting individual user network security and associated software will be required.
Qualifications
A minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience in firewall administration.
Extensive Cisco experience, including Cisco Next Gen firewall.
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
Nice-to-have: Experience within a DoD environment and F5 experience.
Must have Security+ (Sec+) certification.
Must have a minimum Secret clearance (Interim TS not acceptable).
