Apex Systems is seeking a Secret cleared or above Network Engineer to join our partner at Joint Base Andrews for a long-term contract position (fully funded thru 2029.)

Description:
Design, implement, manage, and maintain enterprise grade network infrastructure. The candidate must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol devices, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
The position requires extensive hands-on experience with enterprise class networks coupled with some managerial and project management skills. This network consists of Cisco, F5 and networking devices. WAN connectivity is via IPSec and MPLS Infrastructure.

Job Title: Network Engineer:
Job Type: Full-Time, W2, LTC
Location: Joint Base Andrews, MD
Clearance: Active Secret, can hold TS
Shift/Schedule: Standard EST core hours, onsite 5x/wk
Responsibilities:
• Manage a DoD network infrastructure consists of Cisco applications (ISE & DNAC), Cisco network devices & F5 Appliances
• Help improving LAN\WAN\WLAN architecture for maximum performance, capacity, and scalability
• Implement appropriate network management and monitoring systems achieving zero downtime
• Install and configure switches, routers, and other networking devices
• Automate repetitive networking tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Implement network security measures per business requirements
• Conducting network performance and integrity tests; generate reports
• Help developing and implementing network disaster recovery plans
• Timely resolve escalated network related support issues
• Develop and maintain complete technical documentation
• Interact with business partners providing network engineering support
• Ability to execute multiple projects, meeting hard deadlines
Requirements:
Certifications: Active Security+ or IAT lvl 2, Active CCNA
Minimum/General Experience: Five years’ experience analyzing, identifying, and resolving complex network hardware, circuit, and transmission logic problems. Experienced in the design, installation and acceptance testing of complex high-speed networks. Applies the principles of assessing and analyzing network transmission application to resolve reported malfunctions.
Functional Responsibilities: Under minimum supervision designs and coordinates the installation and acceptance testing of the system network. Monitors network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network; performs cost/benefit studies of network configurations and recommends enhancements; directs acquisition, installation, and testing of network hardware; advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations; and isolates, resolves, or circumvents network problems.
