Apex Systems is seeking a a VXRail Engineer for one of our government clients who is able to work onsite 5x a per week at Hanscom Air Force Base from 8-5pm.
Role: VXRail Administration - Post Deploy Support - SME
Contract Length: 2-4 months
Location: Hanscom Air Force Base, MA
Pay Rate: $80-85/hr
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be stationed at Hanscom and will be responsible for providing remote support, guidance, and answering questions as Tundra deploys the VXRail clusters at multiple sites.
While hands-on deployment isn't the SME's responsibility, familiarity with the following is beneficial:
Basic VXRail administration and deployment processes.
VMware vSphere and vSAN for managing and supporting the virtualized environment.
Remote troubleshooting and support tools to effectively guide the on-site team.
Understanding of networking and storage configurations relevant to VXRail deployments.
The focus is on the ability to support, advise, and troubleshoot rather than direct deployment.
For this role, knowledge of the VXRail system is the primary requirement.
Past experiences that would be valuable include:
Experience in supporting secure configurations for VXRail or VMware environments.
Familiarity with DoD security requirements and guidelines, although not mandatory.
Understanding of basic security protocols relevant to virtualized infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have basic VXRail administration and configuration experience, including:
Deploying VXRail clusters and configuring VMware vSphere and vSAN.
Basic troubleshooting and guidance on configuration changes to support the deployment team.
Understanding of remote administration, as they will be guiding Tundra’s team rather than performing on-site tasks.
The role focuses on providing remote expertise and support, so the candidate should be comfortable with:
Answering configuration questions, assisting with best practices, and troubleshooting issues that arise during deployment.
Communicating technical guidance clearly to a remote team.
