Title: Software Test Engineer

Location: Norfolk, VA (NOB)

Pay: Negotiable up to 200k

Type: 6 month Contract to Hire w/ client

Hybrid Schedule: 2 days on-site M-F Day Hours (40 hour weeks)

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Possess or ability to obtain IAT Level 2 within 6 months of hire (Security+).

· Active Secret Clearance.

· At least 5+ years’ experience with software testing and quality assurance in the development of software applications.

· At least 3 years’ experience with automated testing with UFT using VB Script.

· At least 5+ years’ experience with web and Java testing using one or more of the tools-TestNG, Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber, Cypress, Katalon and Appium.

· Located in local commuting distance (30 miles).





DUTIES:

· Develop and maintain automated test scripts for NTCSS and OOMA applications.

· Create and maintain data-driven Test Automation Framework for the applications under test. Train other team members on how to use the Framework.

· Author and maintain software test cases and procedures, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

· Develop or assist in the creation of software test plans to document overall test strategy, test approach, test process, test schedule, pass/fail criteria, test environment architecture and test lab resources.

· Conduct system, component, application programming interface (API) and cross-browser compatibility testing.

· Participate in agile teams to develop products and feature enhancements.

· Accurately record and report defects found during test events and track to resolution.

· Conduct static and dynamic testing at all software testing levels to include functional, system, acceptance, and load testing.

· Provide status of tasking to project leads and management.

· Work effectively in a highly collaborative, cross-functional team-oriented environment. Demonstrate initiative by identifying solutions for problems and influencing team members to implement them.

· Promote software testing best practices and tools.

· Work with NIWC stakeholders, development, and support teams to ensure comprehensive (both automated and manual) testing is conducted during test events.

· Perform other test related duties as assigned.





­Knowledge, skills, and abilities needed:

· Knowledge and understanding of Test Automation frameworks (Data Driven, Keyword Driven, Behavior Driven Development) and tools, like Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Katalon, Appium, SoapUI, TestNG and JUnit.

· Proficient in programming, Python, Java, Javascript and shell scripting.

· Proficient with Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational database management systems.

· Knowledge and familiarity with Agile Development Methodologies.

· Knowledge and understanding of Web technologies including Browsers, HyperText Markup language (HTML), HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Document Object Model (DOM) manipulation, Extensible Markup Language (XML) and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).

· Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.

· Knowledge of testing business applications and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

· Working knowledge of Micro Focus Application Lifecycle management (ALM), Unified Functional Testing (UFT) and Selenium preferred.

· Knowledge of DevSecOps model and integrating security into all phases of the development lifecycle.

· Knowledge of static and dynamic software test activities.

· Able to analyze requirements, understand complex interactions and risks to design effective test cases.

· Skilled in creating software test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts and test data conditions.

· Skilled at mapping test cases to requirements and providing input to generate a requirements traceability matrix.

· Ability to coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional members of a software development or systems engineering team to accomplish project team goals and objectives.

· Ability to capture test data, analyze test results, troubleshoot problems, identify potential issues and clearly communicate (orally and written) findings and/or deficiencies.

· Ability to determine test approaches, develop test schedules and identify risks associated with testing.

· Knowledgeable with shared object repositories, function libraries and creating reusable actions.

· Working knowledge of version control systems like Subversion (SVN) and Git.

· Working knowledge of an issue and project tracking products, preferably Jira.
