Job Title: Logistics Analyst / Specialist
Location: Hampton, VA (outside Langley AFB)
Pay Rate (Hourly) on Contract: $33.00 - $37.00/HR
Salary at Permanent Hire: $65,000 - $70,000
Layout: 6 Month Contract to Permanent Hire with Client
Requirements
2+ years of experience with Logistics / Supply Chain functions
Minimum of 1 year of experience with IT Logistics applications and systems
DoD Secret Security Clearance
Previous DoD / Military experience preferred
Job Description
Performs supply chain and logistics functions, material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution.
Analyze the life cycle of how goods are moved from the planning stages to the end consumer
Create processes and methods to gather supply chain data
Collect and analyze supply chain data in order to understand where the errors in the supply chain are occurring, and what factors may be causing them
Develop requirements and standards for procurement, delivery packaging and inventory procedures
Determine the most cost-effective methods of shipment and schedules
Recommend improvements to boost performance and reduce costs
Partner with other internal and external to implement changes and new systems
Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects
Maintains current knowledge of supply chain management trends
Contributes to the completion of specific logistics projects.
Conducts supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations to ensure conformance to client's quality, cost, and delivery performance standards.
Performs demand forecasting, distribution planning, supply chain modeling and design.
Resolves supplier quality issues and provides appropriate support for desired supplier capability.
Identifies logistics opportunities for process improvements, inventory reductions, and cost savings.
Writes and edits the logistics policies and procedures.
Performs clerical and manual tasks to maintain an inventory of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
