The Main Responsibilities:
Conducts surveys to determine ISP build requirements for incorporation in proposals
Creates Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for ISP construction projects including labor estimates, material estimates, Other Direct Charges, Travel, etc
Directly interfaces with Government customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other company groups
Produces Engineering Design Packages (EDPs) or other documents for ISP installations
Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates equipment and devices
Design site cable tray systems, cable paths and conveyances
Develop estimates for project schedules and budget
Assists with installation of metro and wide area network equipment
Provides engineering assistance for ISP and OSP installation teams
Coordinates subcontractors, materials, tools and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget
Understands and adheres to Federal, customer site and company policies and practices
Performs testing of DS-1, DS-3, SONET, and Optical Ethernet circuits using Bit Error Rate Testers, OTDRs, Optical Powers Meters and other optical test equipment
Updates network drawings using AUTOCAD, MS Visio and other software-based applications
Position requires moderate travel
What We Look For:
Experience with SONET, DWDM, Ethernet equipment and networks required
Knowledge of Lucent, Ciena/Nortel, Infinera, and Cisco equipment desirable
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience
At least five years applicable systems engineering and installation experience
TS/SCI is required? ? ? ? ?
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation.)
