Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual with a background in Cyber Transport from the U.S. Air Force to join our team as a Network Technician with COMSEC Specialization at the Pentagon. This role is critical for ensuring the security and integrity of communication systems and network infrastructures used in national defense.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the implementation, management, and maintenance of COMSEC (Communications Security) measures and protocols.
Conduct key management tasks, including key generation, distribution, storage, and destruction.
Ensure compliance with all COMSEC policies and procedures, including NSA guidelines.
Perform regular audits and inspections of COMSEC accounts and equipment to ensure adherence to security standards.
Provide technical support and training to personnel on the proper use of COMSEC equipment and materials.
Respond to and resolve COMSEC incidents, including reporting and investigating security violations.
Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures to support communication security.
Perform network monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
Assist in the development and enforcement of network security policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other cybersecurity and IT teams to integrate COMSEC and network solutions into broader security frameworks.
Stay updated on the latest COMSEC and network technologies and industry best practices to enhance the organization’s security posture.
Qualifications:
Active U.S. Government Security Clearance (Top Secret/SCI preferred).
Background in Cyber Transport from the U.S. Air Force or equivalent military experience.
Strong knowledge of COMSEC policies, procedures, and equipment.
Experience with key management, encryption technologies, and secure communication protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to train and support other personnel.
Experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices.
