CGL-11081 - Fire Inspector QUALIFICATIONS-Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of fire prevention practices Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of fire prevention codes and ordinances, fire hazards and the methods and techniques of fire inspections; ability to research specific subject areas and the ability to interpret fire codes and ordinances Ability to recognize existing/potential fire hazards in a wide variety of structures and facilities Knowledge of the principles and practices of building construction Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships all internal/external customers Ability to conduct public education activities, and share ideas across various media Minimum requirements are IFSAC and/or Pro Board certification for: Firefighter - I & II HazMat - Awareness & Operations Fire Officer - I Fire Instructor - I Fire Inspector - I & II Additionally, must possess: Current NREMT certification Current Missouri EMT License Current BLS (CPR w/AED) certification FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 Must meet medical clearance requirements IAW NFPA, DoD F&ES, and contract Oral and written communication skills necessary for accurate documentation of various required reports; communicating with the department, LCAAP officials, and the public Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and skills Possess a valid Missouri Driver License POSITION SUMMARY To perform fire prevention visits under the direct supervision of the Fire Chief, under the direction of the Senior Fire Inspector. To assist the Fire and Life Safety Educational Program in the areas of public fire safety education and other related services for the protection of life and property from fire or other disaster. This position involves administrative work in the performance and direction of activities including compliance with administrative codes, laws and ordinances, policies, procedures and/or special instructions of the Client and Statement of Work (SOW).
