Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly capable Database Administrator (DBA) to support mission-critical databases for a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing both SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability in compliance with DoD regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database servers and tools.
Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
Develop backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
Implement data security measures in accordance with DoD STIGs and RMF requirements.
Support database design, normalization, and query optimization.
Perform database migrations and patching with minimal service disruption.
Generate and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and data dictionaries.
Support application teams in data integration and troubleshooting efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
3+ years of experience as a DBA in a secure or federal environment.
Proficient in SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
Knowledge of database security practices and DoD compliance standards.
Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with performance monitoring tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
Familiarity with NoSQL platforms like MongoDB or Elasticsearch.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator or Oracle DBA.
Work Environment & Conditions:
On-site role in Colorado Springs, CO.
Some after-hours or on-call support may be required.
