Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer in support of USSOCOM SOF AT&L. This position serves as an engineer planner and works directly for the Command Engineer within the SOCOM Special Staff, SOCS-EN.
This is a full-time position located at MacDill, AFB

Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility
Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency in Facility Management.
Education: BS in Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, other Engineering or STEM disciplines, Engineering Management or other management disciplines.
Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years of military engineering and construction experience

Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting in the review of all Special Operations plans and orders.
- Develops SOF operational engineer policy.
- Coordinates the Alternate DoD Construction Authority to include validating projects and reporting projects to OSD.
- Evaluates and recommends programs and development plans utilizing a professional knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
- Works with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for proposed projects.
- Provides inputs for status briefings to leadership, outlining assigned programs, and projects.
- Supports technical evaluation elements of market surveys conducted in conjunction with assigned projects and programs.
- Supports contract modification and makes technical recommendations for change order approval on engineering projects.
- Provides decision support inputs for approval of plans, specification, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies.
- Provides significant, expert-level support to government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of agency engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
- Completes advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials.

Additional Experience:
- Experience at one or more of the following: Combatant Command Staff, Service Component Command Staff, Joint Task Force Staff, Combined Forces Land Component Command Staff, US Army Division (or Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Space Force equivalent organization) Staff, Special Operations, Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Command, or Air Force Civil Engineering Center
- Experience providing engineering support to a SOF organization at the operational (e.g., project development, approval, and funding process) and tactical level (e.g., supervising construction) in a deployed or contingency environment within the last five years and/or 10 cumulative years of military engineering and construction experience with conventional military organizations
