In this unique managerial role, you will lead a team of tooling engineers on a daily basis. This group is responsible for the design, fabrication, and integration of production fixtures into all of our production areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Tool Engineering team is meeting the programs design intent, budget requirements, and production schedules per our customer's requests. This role requires a leader who can make intuitive decisions based on situational influences as needed. The successful candidate will also drive innovation through technology, materials, and processes.
What You Will Do
• Duties include the coordination of resources to support Tooling requirements at all levels.
• Oversee progress and development of significant tooling projects.
• Champion continuous process improvements that reduce design cycle time and design errors.
• Foster a teaming environment for knowledge sharing
• Promote a culture that the Tool Engineering team is a heavily relied upon and respected resource.
• Manage a team of Tooling Engineers and ensure the group is in compliance with Raytheon directives and industry regulations.
Qualifications You Must Have
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with CAD skills preferably with PTC products (Creo)
• Experience with GD&T and blue print reading
Qualifications We Prefer
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Project) applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong team building skills
• 5 years of experience championing process improvements
• Knowledgeable of the requirements associated with the acquisition of Special Tooling and specifically the FAR
• Knowledgeable of the requirements associated with the Property Management requirements associated with Government owned property
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience or Educational knowledge of Systems Engineering
SAP/Prism knowledge and proficiency
Experience with design for manufacturability
Experience with advanced material handling technologies
Experience with incorporation of ergonomics and human factors into design
Education: B.S. Degree in a Technical area such as Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Packaging Engineering/Science.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
