Position(s) Summary:
- The CSA is primarily responsible for communication and front and back-end processing of various types of cases to include (FOIA/PA, Resume/Prepub and Export Control).
- The Archives Technician will use the customer's Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) to make recommendations on the retention of federal records, arrange and describe permanent record collections, create finding aids and input metadata in the records database, and contribute to special projects.
- The Record Center Staff will manage retrieving and maintaining classified records within the record warehouse. They will be responsible for moving records back and forth using several different tools like ladders, forklifts, and other things.
Essential Duties:
- Answer incoming calls on the main lines for both internal and external phones.
- Provide processing status updates.
- Process incoming/outgoing requests in system of record provided.
- Monitor and respond to email requests.
- Process and track outgoing unclassified, classified, and restricted mail daily.
- Perform administrative duties to include copying, faxing, transferring and scanning of documents.
- Perform all logistical operations within the records center to include check out and check in. Inventory management. Clear facility of debris. Organized. Quality control.
- Quality Control of work performed.
- Track metrics of cases opened, in progress, completed.
- Analyze record types, provenance, original order, context, and subject contents of federal record groups.
- Conduct research in the records database to identify and contextualize record groups.
- Apply the Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) to make recommendations for the retention or destruction of permanent and temporary federal records.
- Communicate orally and in writing your analysis of federal record groups, applicable RDS, retention, and plan for arranging and describing permanent records.
- Create finding aids in the records database. Describe records in sufficient detail that they can be identified and retrieved by the customer.
- Identify various media types and select appropriate preservation materials.
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers and coworkers.
- Be proactive in meeting expected goals and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
- 0-2 years performing the duties of the position: Level A
- 2-4 years performing the duties of the position: Level B
- 4+ years preforming the duties of the position: Level C
- Ability to lift 25 pounds. Max 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and not afraid of heights.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and develop a working understanding of federal records, including highly technical or specialized records.
- Ability to work well individually and as a team.
- Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and standard Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn new database and tasking applications.
- High School Diploma/ In some cases degree is preferred.
- Attention to detail is also mandatory for this position.
- Interaction with other components requires a friendly, can-do attitude.
