Seeking a skilled, hands-on technician with maritime experience to support the design, build, test, and deployment of unmanned maritime sensor systems. Initial focus will be acoustic sensing, expanding to other sensor types and mobile platforms. This is a high-impact, field-forward role with frequent lab and on-water work.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Fabrication: Build and assemble components including additive manufacturing, machining, composites, welding.
Electrical Fabrication: Create wiring harnesses, populate/repair boards, assemble battery packs.
Testing & Troubleshooting: Validate and troubleshoot systems and components with minimal documentation; work closely with engineers.
Maritime Operations: Support and eventually lead small boat operations including sensor deployment, maintenance, and recovery.
Training & Mentorship: Train new technicians and operators; assist in creating training materials for customer personnel.
Engineering Support: Provide design feedback, improve documentation, and serve as a liaison between engineers and field technicians.
Requirements:
Strong mechanical and electrical fabrication skills
Hands-on testing and troubleshooting experience
Extensive maritime operations experience, including small boats
Excellent attention to detail, safety-focused, team-oriented
Capable of physical field work including lifting, fine manipulations, and operating in marine environments
U.S. citizenship required; must be willing to undergo security clearance process
Preferred:
SolidWorks or similar CAD experience
Familiarity with wiring harness documentation
Small boat operation experience or USCG captain’s license
Leadership experience
Veteran status or experience working with military personnel
