Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Controller to join our team in Houston.
The Controller is responsible and accountable for all finance, accounting, purchasing and corporate insurance functions. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and records. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with the Treasurer, President, and the Director of Contracts, Project Controls and Pricing.
Responsibilities Include:
• Prepare monthly and year-end consolidated GAAP financial statements.
• Maintain the company financial system to ensure proper financial reporting and accurate financial records to support the company structure. Detailed knowledge and understanding of Deltek Costpoint ERP system in a project accounting environment is preferred.
• Responsible for supervising all accounting functions including month-end close, billing, accounts receivable and payable, timekeeping and payroll, and travel reporting. Detailed knowledge of staff's responsibilities/duties and ability to mentor and develop staff.
• Responsible for banking and treasury functions including daily cash planning and forecasting, compliance reporting, and line of credit renewals.
• Ensure the company is fully prepared for all audits. Support external auditors including financial & government audits (DCAA and other) and support external tax preparation for all federal and state returns.
• Responsible for reviewing internal controls for adequacy and ensuring compliance.
• Manage company insurance policies, regularly review coverage against exposures and recommend changes to portfolio. Interface with broker/underwriters on issues and renewals.
• Support the Company's Quality Program.
Skills Preferred:
• BS/A in Accounting
• CPA Preferred
• Minimum of 10 years' experience, including at least 4 years in public accounting
• Knowledge of government contract accounting and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
• Knowledge of GAAP financial accounting principles and internal controls
• Ability to understand complex accounting structures and a logical thinker
• Deltek Costpoint systems experience, a plus, including report writing tools.
• Excellent computer skills
