As an Engineering Technician (ET) supporting the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG), you'll play a vital role in enhancing and sustaining one of the world's most unique aerospace operations. You will work alongside both contractor and government engineers to improve and maintain AMARG's production processes, shop layouts, and facility systems.
This role requires hands-on technical experience, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to contribute to both engineering documentation and infrastructure-related projects. You will help ensure all processes meet technical and customer requirements, supporting AMARG's mission of aircraft storage, maintenance, regeneration, and disposal.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Process Support:
Assist in writing process orders, identifying constraints, and ensuring production processes are designed to meet all customer specifications.
Support engineering teams in the design, analysis, improvement, and monitoring of the AMARG "production machine."
Help ensure optimal layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to increase operational efficiency.
Facility Project Support:
Contribute to facility-related initiatives including shop layout updates, repair assessments, and preventive maintenance analysis.
Assist with planning and execution of facility repairs, alterations, new construction, and equipment installations.
Provide input on reliability management and infrastructure improvement efforts.
Documentation & Research:
Interpret engineering documents, schematics, and technical specifications.
Assist engineers in producing Statements of Work (SOWs), process orders, and technical documentation.
Conduct research and technical analysis to support recommendations and project planning.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
Five (5) years of experience maintaining equipment or facilities in an industrial environment OR A combination of three (3) years of industrial experience and a bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Demonstrated experience supporting industrial or facility operations and performing hands-on technical tasks.
Ability to collaborate with engineering staff and adapt to changing technical requirements.
Additional Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Must be able to work on-site at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, AZ.
