JOB SUMMARY: Supports 3IS III in the design and evaluation of systems to meet functional specifications of new features. Provide systems analysis, planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operational systems and protocols and configuring/troubleshooting network systems and other devices. Generates concepts, designs and provides support for implementation. Assists with the development of objectives, requirements, CONOPS, and processes for all Delta 12 divisions. Location: Schriever SFB, CO
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Oversee the overall security, integrity, and operations of Special Access Program systems and networks IAW DoDD 5205.07, DODI 5205.11, DoDM 5207.07 Vol I-IV, DoD JSIG, CNSSP 22, CNSSI 1253, ICD 503, AFI 17-101, AFI 17-130, AFI 17-203, AFMAN 17-1301, AFMAN 17-1302-O, AFMAN 17-1402, AFI 31-501, other Special Access Program and local policies and procedures and provide support in connecting functional network requirements with other agencies.
Establish networking environments by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network and system problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access
Resolve interoperability problems to ensure operations across all network equipment
Act as a technical project leader and provides work leadership for lower level employees
Establish and sustain the communications and computer architecture/infrastructure and configurations
Configure, install, identify, assess and mitigate vulnerabilities of fiber, Ethernet and fast Ethernet networks and troubleshoot and restore systems (switches, routers, crypto devices, and servers)
Develop Communication System Requirement Document (CSRD) technical solutions and Information Systems Installation Records (CSIR) annually to provide network, computer system, financial, installation, outside agency coordination, information assurance and customer assistance
Perform network/communications design and implementation for mission and exercise/experiment operations
Develop/find technical solutions and work plans that are consistent with architectural and information system security guidelines
Creates and maintains circuit drawings and configurations
Provide all technical network and systems engineering expertise to the Government
Participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases
Performs tests, experiments, implementations, and system support of components and capabilities
Report network operational status to the Government
Provide network technical support
Additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS: Technical network and systems engineering experience
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 10 years of experience in network engineering and management
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma. IAT Level 2 certification.
