We are seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team in supporting complex database development and management efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL and PL/SQL development, database performance tuning, and the ability to work collaboratively with developers, users, and customers. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and a passion for building and maintaining efficient, secure, and high-performing database environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop SQL and PL/SQL code to support backend reporting and custom database functionality.
Create and maintain scripts to automate database management tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot database performance issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Design, optimize, and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and complex queries in support of application development.
Maintain and update database schemas, designs, and data structures across development environments.
Collaborate with application developers, users, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable database solutions.
Serve as a technical SME on data ingestion and transformation from external sources, including file systems.
Perform routine database maintenance activities including patching, backups, restores, and security audits.
Ensure compliance with data security policies and best practices.
Document database configurations, procedures, and development standards.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in database development and administration.
Active Top Secret clearance required.
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with hands-on experience developing stored procedures, triggers, and custom scripts.
Strong experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
Experience with ingesting and transforming data from external sources.
Familiarity with database design principles and schema management.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise database systems.
Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices as they relate to database integration.
Knowledge of data modeling tools and version control systems.
