Northrop Grumman's Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, and it will be located in Redondo Beach, CA. This position can be filled at either level 2 Systems Engineer or level 3 Principal Systems Engineer.
* This position is contingent upon capturing program award(s) and obtaining and maintaining associated business and/or customer funding prior to start date. Additionally, this position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer to support the Space Vehicle (SV) to Payload (PL) Design & Integration Thread Lead, and additional info about the position is below.
-This role involves assisting in the development and maintenance of the SV to PL Interface Control Document (ICD) and supporting working groups to address and integrate SV to PL requirements.
-The Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to resolve interface issues and ensure seamless integration.
-Responsibilities include assisting in ensuring compliance with specifications, coordinating engineering efforts, supporting design and testing activities, and helping report progress to leadership.
-Ideal candidates should have a foundational understanding of space vehicle and payload design integration, interface management, and systems engineering principles.
-Basic proficiency in requirements management, verification, and validation processes, and familiarity with industry standards is desired.
-Deliverables include assisting in the creation and maintenance of SV to Payload ICDs, preparing status reports, supporting technical review packages, and aiding in integration process documentation.
-The candidate should be adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications for Level 2 Systems Engineer:
-Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 2+ years of experience in engineering OR
-Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
-Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Secret security clearance or above at time of application and prior to start date
Basic Qualifications for Level 3 Principal Systems Engineer:
-Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5+ years of experience in engineering OR
-Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3+ years of experience in engineering OR
-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 1+ year(s) of experience in engineering
-Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Secret security clearance or above at time of application and prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's Degree or above in a STEM discipline
-Strong communication skills, including the willingness and comfortability to present in front of large groups
-Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes

Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
