Description Summary
Netrist needs a Senior Information Systems Engineer to work with government program management offices (PMOs) to provide reviews, reports, recommendations, and subject matter expertise in systems engineering. You will apply your engineering and cybersecurity experience to the process of managing large, complex systems in DoD environments. You will support PMOs in requirements trade-offs, evaluation of system architecture and system implementations, cybersecurity practices, engineering plans and milestones, and technical audits of DoD software development programs. You should be an expert in cloud architecture and services as you will guide the PMOs in the continual transformation of systems to a balance of cloud-agnostic and cloud-native technology that provides the best cost-benefit trade-offs. You should have experience with development and be able to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different development methodologies. You should have familiarity with several programming languages and be able to evaluate code quality and the processes that improve it.
We are looking for an excellent communicator, both written and oral, who can distil complex systems and problems into relatable concepts and simple frameworks that give decision makers tools to make the right informed decision. You should be a curious person, willing to listen and ready to dive into new assignments.
What you will do:
• Support the management of DoD technology programs, providing discover, analysis, and recommendations to government decision makers.
• Review and recommend requirements tradeoffs
• Estimate technology program costs
• Provide technical assessments and technical planning
• Participate in and present in configuration control boards
• Lifecycle sustainment planning
• Information Assurance/Cybersecurity
What we like to see:
• Experience as Information Systems Engineers within complex DoD environments.
• Specialized expertise in enterprise-level compute, storage, and backup solutions, while adhering to stringent cybersecurity standards
• Experience performing Systems Engineering Processes including Requirements Tradeoffs, Cost Estimation, Technical Assessments, Technical Planning, Configuration Control Boards, Capabilities Based Assessments, Lifecycle Sustainment Planning, Information Assurance/Cybersecurity, Requirements Traceability, Systems Engineering Plans, Work Breakdown Structures, and Technical Audits.
• At least one year of training or experience designing, deploying, and maintaining systems compliant with DoD Cybersecurity Policies
• Demonstrated senior-level expertise creating, modernizing, and integrating Enterprise-wide Compute, Storage, and Backup Solutions, using Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Strategies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant degree(s).
• 8+ years as a Systems Engineer or in a related field
• Active Top Secret Clearance and ability to maintain clearance status
• At least one of the following relevant intermediate or higher-level certificatons:
◦ CompTIA Server+
◦ INCOSE ASEP
◦ Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
◦ Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Certified Storage Networking Expert
