Responsibilities Include:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
- Perform engineering analysis, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and vibration analysis, using FEA and CFD tools.
- Select appropriate materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances for mechanical designs.
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development, testing, and production phases.
- Collaborate effectively with electrical, software, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for design processes and methodologies.
- Potentially mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. (Permitted experience exchange: High School and 6 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design and analysis, preferably with a focus on electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for design and documentation.
- Knowledge of material selection, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with environmental testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810) and EMI/RFI shielding principles.
- Experience designing mechanical solutions for military, aerospace, or other harsh environment applications.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and their implications for hardware design.
- Familiarity with TEMPEST requirements or other security-related design considerations.
- Experience with data center cooling or high-performance computing thermal management.
- Understanding of cable management best practices for secure environments.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a current/active TS/SCI
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
