Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Electromechanical Engineer to join our team. This position would be based in Aurora, Colorado.
The selected candidate for this role will be someone with experience applying electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems. The role will include decomposing system level requirements, developing acceptance criteria for verification for compute, datacenter, environmental and antenna systems.
The candidate will support and participate in the design, test, modification, assembly and integration of prototype electromechanical systems supporting RF antennas as part of a larger system infrastructure.
A successful candidate will have experience that includes RF equipment design, integration, verification, or deployment.

Travel is expected up to 10-20% of the time. This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

The selected candidate will be someone who can successfully:
- Participate in integration of antenna (from 1.2 to 19m) systems Including various types of electrical equipment and devices related to all aspects of satellite communications including antennas, servo systems, transmitters, receivers, mixers, switches, modems, upconverters/downconverters, amplifiers, network analyzers, noise figure analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscope, power meters, signal generators, fiber optic transmitters/receivers, waveguides, coaxial cable, and associated wiring and peripherals. Determine equipment malfunctions and apply skills to restore mission-critical operations at the system, sub-system, line replaceable unit, and board level.
- Partake in the operation, maintenance, and repair of RF communications systems and components for RF ground-to-space communication links.
- Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles to determine equipment malfunctions and apply skills to restore mission-critical operations at the system, sub-system, line replaceable unit, and board level
- Utilize sound technical writing to document equipment failures, prepare status reports, and preventative maintenance plans, and assist in developing concepts of operations (CONOPs) and improvements to the operations of communication systems.
- Attend meetings with government employees and other contractor teams, demonstrate proficiency and initiative in daily activities and always carry a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
- Position may require planned and emergency travel throughout the year to various locations.
- Position may require willingness to work off-shit hours at times.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's degree in STEM; 3+ Years of relevant experience with a completed Master's degree in STEM; OR 1+ Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD in STEM [a completed degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required to be considered for this role]
- Must have Active/Final Top Secret security clearance and be SCI-eligible at time of application, with eligibility/willingness to submit (and pass) to a polygraph if/when needed
- Possess and demonstrate work-related experience with the design, installation, integration, operation, maintenance, and repair of ground support systems
- Possess system-level test experience working with antenna/ground infrastructure hardware
- Previous deployment experience working on location and/or in the field to support the Department of Defense and/or the Intelligence Community is highly desirable.
- SATCOM system experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Design of outdoor enclosures
- Experience with HVAC Units and power distribution equipment
- Practical EW/RF systems knowledge gained through design, construction, and or tactical communications system experience is a plus
