As a senior-level technician, you'll support the full lifecycle-design, integration, testing, commissioning, and in-service support-of programmable logic control (PLC) and remote terminal unit (RTU)‑based engineering control systems for amphibious transport and related vessels. You'll also lead field and classroom training and conduct Light Off Assessments for system startups.

Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, troubleshoot, test, commission, and maintain PLC-based shipboard control systems and Versa Module Euro (VME)/VPX control architectures during new acquisition and in-service phases
- Provide hands-on support for electric plant and machinery control systems across multiple vessel classes (e.g., LPD 17, LHA 6/7, LHD 8, CG 47, Aegis Ashore)
- Conduct Light Off Assessment (LOA) procedures to verify system readiness and performance
- Develop and deliver field and classroom training on engineering control system operation and maintenance
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, trade‑school graduate, or GED equivalent
- 15+ years' hands-on engineering technician experience on LPD 17 San Antonio‑class PLC/RTU control systems
- Proven expertise in shop‑yard integration, commissioning, and in-service support of shipboard control systems
- Demonstrated proficiency with VME (VITA 46) and VPX architectures
- Active Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Light Off Assessments and system startups on LPD 29 and similar vessel classes
- Strong troubleshooting skills on electric plant and machinery control systems
- Excellent communication and training delivery capabilities
