Test Engineer, Mid
The Opportunity:
As a Test Engineer on our team, you'll create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Army systems, which are sof tware used to perform network operations, management, and security tasks for the Army Tactical Network. You'll support the development and maintenance of Test and Evaluation Master Plans ( TEMPs ) and Test and Evaluation Strategies ( TESs ) in accordance with Army test and evaluation guidance, policies , and templates. You'll contribute to government Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategy and master plans for testing communications systems in a laboratory and operationally relevant environment by assisting with the development of Critical Technical Parameters (CTPs), Critical Operational Issues (COI), or Critical Operational Issue Criteria (COICs) from the operational and capability requirements.
You'll collaborate with Army stakeholders, including network engineers, operators, and cybersecurity spe cia lists, to identify and prioritize testing requirements, and coordinate test resources, including equipment, personnel, and facilities, to support test events and ensure successful test execution. You'll work with test organizations to support program integration plans and plan and conduct activities associated with members from the user community and the DoD community. Additionally, you'll identify and maintain relevant metrics for assessing success of test and evaluation, and identify or assess recommended improvements or tools to improve test and evaluation efficiency and effectiveness.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a strong understanding of the Army's tactical network architecture and systems. You'll also need to be familiar with the Army's network modernization efforts. Your knowledge of the Army's tactical network will enable you to develop test plans and test cases that are tailored to the unique needs of the Army's network systems and to collaborate effectively with Army stakeholders and developers to ensure that our sof tware meets their requirements.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 10+ years of experience with conducting test and evaluation activities and documenting results
- E xperience with hardware and software testing to Military Standards or Specifications
- Experience with software test planning and execution, including test design, and test case development covering both functional and non-functional requirements
- Experience with the preparation of strategy, studies, plans, and analyses in support of test outcomes
- Experience with communications systems testing and with writing and supporting test plans and summary reports
- Knowledge of Army Tactical Networks
- Ability to lead root cause analysis and corrective action
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with developmental and operational test, production qualification test, reliability verification test, and waveform standard conformance test
- Experience with Army PEO-C3T
- Experience employing Agile Test Principles
- Experience with Agile test methodologies and tools, including Jira, Eggplant, Scrum, Kanban, or other iterative development frameworks
- Experience with network testing and validation tools, including Wireshark, NetFlow, and network simulation or emulation tools
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl, and with automation frameworks, such as Ansible or Puppet
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools
- Knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network routing and switching
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Mathematics
- CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), ITIL Foundation, Certified Agile Tester (CAT), or similar Certifications
