Job Description: The Senior Facility Electrician supports the Spaceport Systems (SS) team at Vandenberg SFB by operating and maintaining the Integrated Processing Facility (IPF) for processing space hardware in preparation for launch to polar or sun-synchronous orbits. The Senior Facility Electrician performs electrical work/projects, preventative maintenance, repairs and installs for critical IPF systems including: facility control systems, power generation, fire detection, UPS, HVAC, and other electrical and mechanical systems.

The Senior Facility Electrician performs electrical work/projects, preventative maintenance, repairs and installs for critical IPF systems including: facility control systems, power generation, fire detection, UPS, HVAC, and other electrical and mechanical systems.
This position is required to:
- Executes electrical projects from start to finish.
- Ensure that electrical work is done safely, according to code, and to the required quality standards.
- Reviews plans for electrical systems and layouts, including circuit designs, panel layouts, and the proper placement of outlets, switches, and fixtures.
- Assess job requirements, and select materials and tools needed for the project.
- Ensures electrical systems and installations are compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC-National Electrical Code).
- Verify that all safety protocols are followed and that the system meets industry standards.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems and failures in wiring, circuits, or systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide repairs or replacements as necessary to maintain the safety and functionality of the system.
- May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
- Perform other facility maintenance and operations activities duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- High School diploma and minimum 15 years of prior relevant experience.
- Communicate both orally and written in a clear and concise manner
- Read, understand, and work from Standard Operating Procedures, electrical drawings, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
