Raytheon's Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Discipline is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Verification and Validation, test capabilities, Life Cycle and System Security Engineering (SSE).
The Radar Systems (RS) Department is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer (Sr. Principal Systems Engineer,) to join the LTAMDS program to support the Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract. The Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) is an integral part of the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) and is the principal arbiter of Systems requirements and design. The LSE supports the OCE to ensure technical execution and system compliance to contractual requirements.
This is an onsite role in Tewksbury, MA.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

What You Will Do
- Responsible for developing and executing the production requirements verification strategy in alignment with the overall LTAMDS requirements verification strategy.
- Responsible for ensuring that LTAMDS production hardware meets performance and non-performance requirements at the A-spec, B-spec and C-spec Levels.
- Influence the creation of specifications to ensure that they support production and analyzes production data to ensure complex requirements have been met.
- Interact extensively with LTAMDS Test Architect, Program Managers, Directorate Leads, Chief Engineers, Lead Systems Engineers, Operations, Supply Chain and Technical SMEs.
- Coordinate with other program IPTs/CPTs to draw on their subject matter experts to address emergent issues across the systems, software, and hardware domains.
- Interface with the customer community on a regular basis to share test status, issues, and address programmatic concerns.
- Have a good knowledge base for Model Based Systems Engineering and how to use this in Integration and Test for the requirements verification strategy
- Actively drive the optimization of DTUPC metric(s) for the LTAMDS radar
- This position will require some domestic and international travel (Approximately 10% travel)
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience leading teams and IPT's in Systems Engineering or Multi-Disciplined Engineering
- Experience interfacing with program/functional management
- Experience using tools and metrics in managing Program activities
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Self-starter - proactive in determining goals and objectives and pursuing the necessary course of action
- Experience as a Lead Systems Engineer or Chief Engineer on previous programs
- Experience in preparing customer and/or senior leadership briefings and presenting them
- Experience in schedule development, action item management, requirement change management and overall development and progress metrics
- EVMS Certified (or equivalent)
- Knowledge navigating the organization and working with stakeholders across the company to develop solutions to key program challenges
