Location: On-Site – San Diego, CA (with potential travel to Hawaii and Japan)
Start Date: ASAP – Immediate Need
Travel: Occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel (2–3 weeks per trip, 1–2 times per year)
Salary: $115,000 - $140,000

Position Overview:
We’re seeking a highly skilled WAN ADNS Network Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to join our cutting-edge team in San Diego, CA. This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity to support the development, integration, and deployment of Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) solutions directly to the Fleet. You’ll work in active lab environments, install prototype systems on U.S. Navy ships, and support periodic overseas deployments to locations such as Hawaii and Japan.

While CANES experience is not mandatory, familiarity is a bonus. This role requires a self-motivated, security-cleared engineer who thrives in a mission-critical environment and is ready to hit the ground running within the next few weeks.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide expert-level engineering support for WAN and ADNS systems in lab and operational settings.
Support the integration, installation, and testing of prototype systems aboard ships.
Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve multi-layered network issues.
Participate in system architecture revisions, enhancements, and optimizations to ensure system stability, scalability, and performance.
Travel for on-site shipboard installations and field support (including occasional travel to Hawaii or Japan).
Perform root-cause analysis across software and hardware platforms to drive reliable end-to-end solutions.

Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance (must be current).
Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering IT systems for DoD or Government agencies.
Demonstrated ability to support system development across both software and hardware components.
Strong analytical skills for resolving complex issues across multiple technologies and teams.
Experience developing and refining system designs and architectures for sustainability and efficiency.
Must meet or exceed the qualifications of the Engineering Junior labor category.

Desired Skills (Optional)
Preferred/Bonus Qualifications:
Experience with CANES domain and enterprise services integration (not required, but beneficial).
4+ years of experience in engineering with:
Microsoft Server OS, Domain Controllers/GPOs
Microsoft SharePoint, SQL, WSUS
RHEL, Microsoft SCOM
4+ years of PowerShell development experience.
