Applications Developer
Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time Applications Developer to support our client in the design, deployment, and optimization of modern cloud-based infrastructure and development workflows. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining containerized environments, enabling seamless container deployments, and implementing serverless architecture within AWS to support mission-critical applications. This role requires hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, a strong understanding of infrastructure as code, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about solving new challenges, sharing lessons learned, and promoting state-of-the-art IT solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Tasks Performed:
• Design and develop scalable applications using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, ensuring maintainable and reusable code across modules and services.
• Build and manage cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services, including provisioning resources with CloudFormation, configuring EC2 instances, developing serverless functions with Lambda, and managing data through DynamoDB and ElasticSearch.
• Develop, maintain, and query relational databases such as Amazon RDS, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL to support application backends and business logic.
• Implement and manage continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab/GitHub, automating build, test, and deployment processes.
• Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate system tasks, manage deployments, and support operational workflows in a Linux-based environment.
• Create and configure Jenkins pipelines to automate application testing, building, and deployment stages, aligning with industry best practices for CI/CD.
• Monitor and troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, and performance bottlenecks across development and production environments.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Object Oriented Programming experience.
• Experience with AWS (e.g., CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., RDS, Oracle, Postgres) MySQL.
• Experience in continuous integration technology (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub).
• Experience with interacting in a Linux environment (ex - Bash scripting).
• Experience with Jenkins and creating Jenkins Pipelines while having and understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience.
• Advanced Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and minimum 11.5 years prior relevant experience.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Groovy or bash shell scripting.
• Experience with application platforms such as Spring Boot or Angular. (Preferred)
• Experience with log analytics tools such as Splunk or ElasticSearch. (Preferred)
• Experience working with containers using Docker or Podman. (Preferred)
• Experience with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and Mesos. (Preferred)
• Experience in communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management. (Preferred)
• Comfortability working in a fast-paced environment. (Preferred)
• Experience with Microservices. (Preferred)
• Experience with front end development using Angular 10. (Preferred)
• Comfortability in managing competing priorities and are able to bring order to ambiguous scenarios. (Preferred)
• Familiarity with Source code management and integration (ex - GitHub/GitLab). (Preferred)
• Experience in an Agile environment (JIRA, Confluence). (Preferred)
