Description: This role supports a DoD program at Fort Belvoir, VA. On-site presence: 50%, Travel: 50%, On-call: 0%.
Metronome is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator/Field Engineer to support operational systems at multiple military locations, both CONUS and OCONUS the majority of the time. Will interface with users at all levels to help them understand our product. Must be interested in traveling up to 50% of the time. Hybrid work the rest of the time locally with our Ft. Belvoir, VA customer.
Required Skills
Security Clearance: A current Secret level U.S. Government security clearance is required; U.S. Citizen required. Can consider candidates with a TS+ level clearance as well.
At least 9 years of experience in Linux Systems Administration with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
Must have experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, etc.
Experience performing software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software applications.
Experience working closely with Software or Systems Development teams to troubleshoot systems and applications.
Experience leveraging a ticketing system for support requests (JIRA, ServiceNow, etc.)
Must have a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (i.e. Security+).
Ability to interface with users/customers at multiple military locations both CONUS and OCONUS. Travel will be up to 50% of the time and the rest of the time is 50% on customer site in a hybrid schedule out of Ft. Belvoir, VA. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.
Desired Skills (Optional)
Configuration management tools experience a plus (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc.)
Experience with Big Data technologies is a huge plus (Hadoop, Kafka, Accumulo, Storm, Hortonworks, Cloudera).
Experience with Cloud technologies a plus (AWS, Azure)
Higher level clearance is desired, but not required. Can consider up to a TS/SCI with a Polygraph.
