Overview

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for Operations 24x7 Support (Sr System Administrator)-Night Shift / Weds(Alt) - Sat 1730-0530ET on a 10 year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. All the personnel on the team will work together to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment and disposal of user facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts real-time, pro-active SLA Compliance monitoring of compute, cloud and network resources across the enterprise.
  • Responds, triages, and troubleshoots system alerts indicating issues with data center components.
  • Conducts hands-on administration and triage of virtual machines, hosts, and other IT devices via vCenter and other virtualized management interfaces. Administration consists of, but is not limited to: assessing all virtual resources, consoling into virtual machines, triaging virtual server issues, and restarting virtual machines.
  • Provides first contact response and initial resolution for all associated, technical engineering lanes within the environment.
  • Logs, tickets, and owns/escalates incidents resulting from infrastructure events.
  • Manages and tracks execution of authorized changes throughout the Change Management life cycle.
  • Troubleshoots, accurately tracking and resolving assigned incidents.
  • Creates and tracks trend reports.
  • Creates and maintains standard operating procedures and operational reporting protocol for the purpose of communicating system and network health with upper management, government customers, mission partners, service providers, and agency executives.
  • Interacts with vendors to coordinate the maintenance and replacement of hardware that effects high and critical priority systems and environments.
  • Maintains extremely accurate, high level reporting of all issues.
  • Connectivity monitoring and SLA Compliance of cloud-based systems.
  • Provisions thin client software.
  • Actively contributes to continual improvement of IT Operations and processes.

    • Night Shift / Weds (Alt) - Sat 1730-0530ET (Delta Team) 4 on, 3 off / 3 on, 4 off


Qualifications

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with ability to pass CI Poly.

Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration.

Required Certifications:
  • Must meet current DoD 8140 IAT Level II requirements or higher.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the ITIL V4 framework with the intent of attaining ITIL V4 Foundations certification.
    • Willingness to technically develop and gain additional technical certification is a must.

Required Skills:
  • Effective investigation, triage, and troubleshooting of tier 2+ issues in a virtual environment.
  • Thrives in medium to high complexity environments, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Exceptionally keen attention to detail.
  • Has an eye for innovation and constantly looks for ways to make the delivery of service more efficient.
  • Virtual host and Server administration. Experience with Linux-based operating systems is a plus.
  • Hands-on administration within a virtualized environment.
  • Enterprise-level monitoring suites/software (i.e. BMC BPPM/TrueSight, HP NNM, Splunk, WhatsUp Gold, Nagios, etc.)
  • Maintaining detailed, operational awareness of various cross-functional, technical disciplines.
  • Working experience with ITSM software suites, preferably ServiceNow.
