About the Role

Sierra Space is seeking a talented and motivated High Performance Computing Systems Administrator. As a key member of our IT team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our HPC systems infrastructure, ensuring the security and efficiency of our operations. Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Server Maintenance: Oversee the configuration, installation, and upgrades of hardware and software, ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Documentation: Keep thorough documentation of network server configurations, application licensing agreements, and third-party software.
  • Support and Monitoring: Provide on-call support, monitor infrastructure proactively, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Software and Hardware Testing: Participate in testing new software and hardware.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Application and Development teams to onboard new team members. Provide real-time training and maintain/improve existing development pipelines that utilize HPC clusters.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10 plus years proven experience in a similar role
  • Relevant experience may be considered in liu of required education
  • Experiencing deploying/maintaining on-prem HPC Clusters
  • Experience deploying/maintain of HPC Clusters in cloud environments
  • Experience with slurm/pbs/torque schedulers
  • Experience running Monte Carlo simulations
  • Experience with high speed networks (Intel Omnipath, Nvidia Infiniband)
  • Experience nfs and parallel file sytems (Beegfs/Lustre)
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Scripting experience (Bash, python)
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, focusing on engineering and technical solutions

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with virtual python/conda environments
  • Experience with Red Hat Identity Management (IDM) or FreeIPA
  • Experience with Nvidia GPUs
  • Working knowledge of Puppet/Chef/Ansible
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps.
  • Experience with Singularity Containers

 

Pay Range (Hourly):

 

$60.34 - $75.44 - $82.97
