DESCRIPTION
INLT Customs Brokerage, a subsidiary of Amazon is looking for a Senior Customs Brokerage Lead. This position is a key member of our customs brokerage team, responsible for overseeing the customer expansion strategy and execution. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of custom regulations and freight forwarding services, a strong grasp of customs compliance, and the ability to lead initiatives that optimize and expand our import customs operations.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new import customers, ensuring a seamless and compliant transition.
- Develop tailored import/customs strategies for each client based on their trade flows, commodities, and regulatory requirements.
- Guide customers through customs compliance setup, including HS classification, POA, documentation, and licensing.
- Coordinate with internal compliance teams to ensure customers are onboarded in line with regulatory standards.
- Create standardized onboarding workflows and documentation to scale customer activation efficiently.
- Continuously refine onboarding processes to reduce friction and improve time-to-value.
- Act as a bridge between sales, operations, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on customer requirements and timelines.
- Provide internal teams with strategic insights into customer-specific import complexities.
- Train and educate new clients on customs procedures, required documentation, and import best practices.
- Offer proactive guidance to help customers optimize their supply chain from day one.
- Track onboarding KPIs such as time to activation, documentation readiness, and customs clearance success rate.
- Gather feedback from new clients to identify friction points and improve the onboarding experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
