Network Engineer
The Opportunity :
A well-designed network is critical to move data and en able warfighters to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting and evolving the network systems requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to deliver satellite communications network needs.
As a Network Engineer on our team, you'll use your skills in network design and architecture, system interoperability, problem solving, routing, switching, IPSec or encryption, OS virtualization, and IPv4 and IPv6 networks interfacing SATCOM users to DoD networks and services. You'll help support the nation's defense and resp ond to evolving adversaries as a part of a team charged with developing, upgrading, and sustaining a worldwide satellite communications system and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.
You'll apply your knowledge in routing and switching, network design and architecture as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in Cisco, Juniper, and other COTS hardware and network performance management, and your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll serve as a t rus ted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects and make an impact on national security missions.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have :
- 2+ years of experience with IP networking design and troubleshooting
- Experience in designing, testing, and implementing network systems
- Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls set up and configuration
- Experience with network and firewall troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec VPNs
- Knowledge of QoS and Mobility
- Knowledge of protocols including IPSec, BGP, 802.1q, IPv6, and Multicast
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Asso cia te Certification ( CCNA ) within 6 months of hire date
Nice If You Have :
- Experience with DoD networks, satellite communications, and radio systems, network design and enterprise security
- Experience designing, testing and implementing complex network systems in a DoD environment preferred
- Knowledge of SATCOM or IP Modems such as iDirect or Linkway preferred
- Ability to initiate, manage, execute, and report tasks independently
- Ability to communicate complex network principles and designs to clients
- Possession of excellent time management and analytical skills
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Cisco Certified Network Professional ( CCNP ) Certification
