Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is looks for a Senior Aviation Systems Analyst, who will offer critical analytical and technical support to the Redstone Arsenal, Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation team, directly impacting the security, reliability, and performance of U.S. Army aviation systems. The candidate will collaborate within a team, building a deep understanding of PEO Aviation's goals, workflows, and systems. This role utilizes your skills in operations, cybersecurity, risk management, system safety, and survivability analysis. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, be well versed in supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs, and exceptional communication and teamwork skills. Your work will be vital to research and analysis, helping to inform key decisions regarding the development, procurement, and maintenance of aviation platforms and related technologies.

What you will do

  • Develops and configures systems specifications that address business requirements, processes, and that fit with the company's system architecture standards.
  • Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
  • Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.
  • Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
  • Revises existing systems and tests functionality of the system to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, data integrity, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
  • May document testing and maintenance of system updates, modifications, and configurations. May act as a liaison with other business functions.
  • Supports the smooth operation of the organization by overseeing daily activities across engineering, cybersecurity, system safety, acquisition, and human capital management. This includes tracking tasker progress, coordinating meetings and briefings, maintaining accurate records and documentation, and assisting in the creation and refinement of operational procedures.
  • You will also contribute to performance monitoring through the development and maintenance of operational metrics and reporting dashboards and play a key role in the development and execution of Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans.
  • Oversee cybersecurity accreditation by applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and eMASS, ensuring compliance and generating security documentation like SSPs and POA&Ms.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments, including risk analyses and vulnerability assessments, to mitigate potential threats and maintain system integrity.
  • Support acquisition program analysis by reviewing systems engineering, logistics, and sustainment plans within PEO Aviation.
  • Assist in analyzing acquisition documentation and identifying cost/schedule trade-offs, contributing to strategic program planning.
  • Perform research and analysis on emerging technologies and system architectures, supporting data management improvements and technical report development.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and knowledge sharing.

What we are looking for

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Previous experience facilitating DoD programs and systems, preferably within the PEO Aviation environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Baseline knowledge of cybersecurity principles, RMF, eMASS, and other relevant cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Strong verbal and written skills specifically suited for U.S. Army Aviation doctrine.
  • Experience and knowledgeable with system safety processes, aviation platforms, and DoD acquisition processes

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous U.S. Army Aviation Systems Analyst experience supporting the U.S. Army Aviation Program Executive Office.

Physical Requirements

  • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
