The Visiting Scientist - Software Solutions Division, will work with the SSD leadership team to collaborate on and contribute to the National Agenda of Software Engineering Research and Development, journal papers, SEI blogposts, and conference contributions such as presentations, workshops, and keynotes. Additionally, this position will provide input into and mentor contributors to the SSD research portfolio.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate on and contribute to the next version of the National Agenda for the Future of Software Engineering Research and Development
- Collaborate on journal papers, SEI blogposts, conference and workshop presentations & keynotes
- Provide input to the SEI SSD research portfolio
- Mentor SSD PIs on research proposals and active projects
- Other duties as needed
Minimum requirements:
-PhD in Computer Science with at least 15 years of experience in research leadership and mentoring, software development strategy, government research leadership.
-Prior experience as a senior researcher or technical leader with a federally funded research & development center.
-You will be subject to a background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
-Legally authorized to work for Carnegie Mellon University in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
