Member of a Fire (ARFF & Structural) Services team that supports services in Fire Operations. Provides aviation and structural firefighting services to minimize loss of life and property in the event of fire. Controls and extinguishes fires. Operates pumps, foam generators, boom and ground sweeps nozzles and other similar equipment. Uses a variety of special protective gear in situations where poisonous gases, highly flammable combustible liquids, radioactive materials, and hazardous biological products are involved.
Job Description:
• This position will maintain accountability and responsibility of all individually assigned personal
protective gear within IAW guidance and regulations.
• Conduct daily inspections of personal protective gear for serviceability and accountability.
• Provide assistance and planning on Aircraft Rescue and Structural Fire Fighter (ARFF & Structural)
operations and mission planning.
• Must be capable of preparing and conducting training for military personnel on ARFF management
operations and equipment to include facility fire extinguishers and fire protection.
• Maintains proficiencies, licenses, and certifications in accordance with applicable regulations and Host
Nation guidance, NFPA, and ARFF regulation.
• Shall manage inventories, before, during, and after operations of assigned materials and equipment.
• Anticipate and plan for shortfalls in materials, equipment, and ARFF capabilities.
• Plan for movement of materials, equipment, and personnel in support of mobile ARFF operations to
various locations.
• Shall ensure all fire department members, including communications center personnel, meet training
and certification requirements outlined in DoDM 6055.06.
• Ensure the safety of all firefighters by following proper procedures. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
As directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum.
TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• This position may be assigned to a day shift or night shift.
• Environments can be from conventional indoor office workspace to project worksites with harsh,
working and living conditions.
• To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will
possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at the intermediate level
as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
• Position requires the basic skills and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
• All DoD military and civilian firefighters and employees of DoD contractors must be certified at the level
for which they seek employment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Must be able to respond to rescue or fire alarms/notifications within 3 minutes.
IFSAC or PRO BOARD CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED:
• Must possess a standard civilian driver’s license.
• Minimum Certification Requirements: Firefighter I, Hazardous Material (HazMat) Operations and HazMat
Awareness.
• Airport Firefighter
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Telecommunicator I and II (Preferred).
• Marine Firefighter – Only required at F&ES departments without an aircraft firefighting mission.
• Wildland Firefighting – Only required at F&ES departments with a wildland firefighting mission, as
defined by the DoD.
