Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time Senior Systems Engineer Principal 3 to support our client in the administration, design, and integration of secure enterprise Linux environments.

The selected candidate will lead efforts in implementing Ansible automation, managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, and administering complex virtualized environments using VMware.

This role includes the development and application of system hardening strategies using STIGs, the configuration of Cross Domain Solutions, and the implementation of infrastructure upgrades and security enhancements.

The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to design, build, and maintain scalable Linux-based platforms, apply rigorous change management processes, and ensure compliance with operational requirements and cybersecurity standards across the system lifecycle.


Tasks Performed:

• Provide support as dictated by available funding and this subcontract agreement.

• Perform work at on- or off-site locations depending on the need for access to the application's operating environment.

• Implement changes and/or modifications that comply with established Change Management processes.

• Lead Ansible Implementation.

• Provide Administrative support for Linux, VMWARE and MAC systems.

• Manage and STIG RHEL 6 and 7 systems (RHEL or Red Hat Enterprise Linux).

• Design and build RHEL 7 systems in a virtual environment (RHEL or Red Hat Enterprise Linux).

• Manage RHEL 6 and 7 systems utilizing Red Hat Satellite (RHEL or Red Hat Enterprise Linux).

• Plan and implement software and/or systems upgrades and modifications.

• Manage and administer Cross Domain Solutions.

• Contributes to completion of major engineering programs and projects.

• Develop solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems.

• Perform highly complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.

• Oversee highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

• Perform highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

• Perform continual maintenance and provides highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.

• Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

• Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processes.

• Coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals


Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• Compliance with DOD 8570-01.M* for IAT II Labor positions no later than 90 days and Qualifications: after Subcontract award

• CompTIA Security+

• CompTIA Linux+

• ITIL v3 or v4 certification (Preferred)

• Experience with federal financial, acquisitions, or budgeting systems or business processes (Preferred)

• Previous experience working with/for a federal agency (Preferred)


Other Job Requirements:

• Minimum Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance

• U.S. Citizenship, and successful background check

• Travel is not anticipated as a requirement of this effort but may be required at the customer’s request

• Authorized service interruptions frequently occur during nights and weekends, and may require work outside of the normal business hours
