Summary:

The Immunology Staff Scientist will support studies on immune mechanisms related to bacterial pathogens, helping to characterize responses to vaccines and therapies. This position involves high-containment research and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Conduct cellular and humoral immune response assays.
  • Perform animal immunization and sampling.
  • Analyze data using statistical and bioinformatics tools.
  • Maintain BSL-2/3 safety protocols.
  • Document findings and prepare research reports.
  • The Contractor is expected to write reports and publications and present their findings in meetings.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry.
  • Knowledge of immune system pathways and host-pathogen interaction.
  • Ability to work in high-containment labs.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences and have desired experience working in a research laboratory.
  • Shall have demonstrated their subject matter expertise in at least one area, and their ability to conduct independent research through publication of several technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications.
  • The contractor will be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team.
  • Possesses good written and oral communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in immunology, microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years in immunology or microbiology research
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required.
  • Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACTIVE SECRET is preferred
  • Ph.D. in immunology or a related biomedical field

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $133,000 annually.
