MINIMUM MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
1) Prior US Navy Service with ten (10) years specialized experience as a Senior Sonar Operator or Supervisor, achieving the rating of Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief, or officer with strong ASW experience.

DESCRIPTION
DAS is seeking a senior level subject matter expert to become an integral part of our team on the Signature Trainers Scenario Control Services program. Successful SME candidates will support projects involving the Trainer Scenario Controller for various Naval Combat Training Systems for our customer at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD. Projects will entail execution of scientific, engineering and technical services required for the design, development, integration, test, fleet implementation and maintenance of Trainer Scenario Controls utilized in Synthetic Scenario Generation based training simulation systems.
This position offers the opportunity to work on leading edge Navy Combat System Training Systems. Successful SME candidates will work directly with the software development team during the design, development and testing of new and retained capabilities. They will also work with other SMEs to ensure that software meets requirements for each trainer project. The SME will also assist the technical writer in capturing all technical and operational documentation. Specifically, this effort will focus on maintaining and updating current capabilities and maintaining, updating, and developing new capabilities for the common Acoustic Instructor Console (AIC) software subsystem utilized with the All World Environment Simulation (AWESIM) acoustic simulation and the Periscope Simulation (PSIM) visual simulation across Submarine, Surface Ship, Surveillance, and Air Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) training, testing, and analysis system builds and configurations. The SME will travel to various navy training sites to assist in the installation, testing and training of new capabilities to the fleet.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with project leads to lend subject matter expertise within the defined systems capability sprints and associated deliverables
• Lead subject matter testing efforts in support of software development
• Assist the technical writer in the creation of technical documentation and user guide, collaborating with developers and project leads
• Act as a “Key” member of the DAS senior management team for all Navy AIC programs as well as assisting DAS with our continued business growth. Key personnel expectations will be explained during interview process.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Ten years of operational experience with submarine AN/BQQ-10 sonar systems
• Five years of experience with surface ship AN/SQQ-89 A(V)15 or IUSS sonar systems
• Candidates should be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
