Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (Deployment)
Location: US-AL-Huntsville
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team supporting the FBI’s Information Technology Infrastructure Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gather user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirements documents, system security requirements documents, and system test plan.
• Install, maintain, and evaluate network systems and communications systems.
• Perform technical refresh of routers, switches, and firewall devices at customer sites.
• Deploy device configurations and verify operability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues involving various protocols, topologies, networking hardware, etc.
• Provide testing and pilot support for new network hardware and configuration deployments/implementations.
• Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.
• Utilize knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members to develop new network designs.
• Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.
• Provide excellent and professional customer service in all interactions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Top Secret security clearance
• At least 5 years of relevant Information Technology (IT) experience with specialization in networking technologies, specifically with Cisco switches and routers and resolving Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) issues.
• Bachelor of Science degree (preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) and Digital Network Administration (DNAC) experience preferred
