Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Industrial Engineer with a concentration in manufacturing to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, PA.
Position Responsibilities:
Apply industrial engineering concepts, approaches, and techniques to product, process, and services to meet program requirements of moderate complexity.
Collaborate with production and management teams to design, develop, implement, manage, and optimize complex production and building layouts, capacity plans, sequencing of operations, and workflows.
Assist in the development and implementation of lean manufacturing principles and practices, including 5S program implementation and maintenance.
Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Complete data analysis and conduct time studies and work measurements to assist in establishing and maintaining standard times for operations.
Support the introduction of new products by conducting feasibility studies, capacity planning, simulation, and corresponding production and equipment layout changes.
Review production system and office environments to initiate and support ergonomic work conditions for all personnel.
Prepare and present reports on project status, findings, and recommendations to management.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years using Excel to perform data analysis.
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Prior experience with Microsoft Visio and MS Project.
Prior Industrial Engineering experience supporting production environments.
Working knowledge of CAD software.
Prior experience with process simulation software and tools.
