Effector RF Products is responsible for designing RF and Microwave hardware, including antennas and radomes. This includes design and test activities that span concept generation and preliminary design to integration. Products we develop support radar and datalink applications on a variety of tactical missile programs. Critical to this role is designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.

The candidate will be responsible for leading and shaping antenna, radome, and antenna measurement system technology within the Company. The selected candidate will also be expected to lead diverse teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the Engineering organization to establish technology roadmaps, enable modernization, and contribute to general innovation. In addition, the candidate will work with government personnel and programs and define and refine requirements to validate hardware compliance. The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees across the business within the candidate's areas of expertise.

This position is an onsite role, located in Huntsville, AL.

What You Will Do
  • Development and detailed design antenna or radome hardware and requirements
  • Work with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, systems, etc.
  • Work with antenna manufacturing suppliers
  • Analyze simulation and test data to verify performance to requirements


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience to include the following:
  • Leading antenna designs through concept trades, design, and qualification
  • Antenna simulation and modeling with at least one of the following tools: HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and/or GRASP
  • Antenna measurements in near or far field systems
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Master of Science (MS) or PhD in electrical engineering
  • Experience managing and presenting technical data to stakeholders and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings
  • Experience presenting to FRB, ERB, CCB, MRB, etc.
  • Experience with being a Cost Account Manager or Integrate Product Team Lead
  • Mentorship experience, technical oversight responsibilities for less-senior engineers
  • Technical background in the following areas:
    • Experience designing and delivering conformal antenna designs
    • Understanding and ability to design near-field-to-far-field processing algorithms
    • Understanding of complex threat environments and battlefields
    • Experience designing datalink, flight termination, and telemetry antenna systems
    • Experience designing GPS antenna systems
    • Proficiency with Python, MATAB and/or other high level scientific programming languages
    • Proficiency with high performance computing (HPC) environments and schedulers

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
