The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector has an opening for a Knowledge Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a broad range of responsibilities for implementing an organizational knowledge management strategy. In this role, you will support a dynamic and rewarding opportunity supporting a critical Leidos customer. Our mission is unique, and we can help our customers establish a new strategy and shape the outcome in the most efficient manner possible.

This position is out of our customer site at The Mark Center in Alexandria, VA and requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance to start.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Establish a knowledge management strategy for the organization including the proper tools while aligning to the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Define and implement the organization's knowledge management taxonomy, ontology, and meta-data tagging approach to shape and categorize knowledge objects.
  • Define and establish the proper search engine and retrieval mechanism to access knowledge articles.
  • Support the government's knowledge management strategies by propelling collaboration between the organization's directorates and guiding the leadership in enhancing knowledge management initiatives.
  • Encourage the adoption of knowledge management practices across the organization.
  • Enable the utilization of knowledge management tools employing repeatable processes and procedures.
  • Support the knowledge management organization to drive engagement, self-service, and mindshare.
  • Assess and establish all knowledge management best practices, including training materials and executive presentations.
  • Maintain the executive leadership abreast of the knowledge management implementation status.
  • Collaborate with organization leaders to deliver expertise on how knowledge management and communities of practice ingenuities can drive and deliver optimal organizational results.
  • Work in partnership with all Directorates to boost knowledge management industry best practices, determine a business alignment, and drive a united approach to the implementation of enterprise knowledge management.
  • Establish knowledge diffusion and sharing by promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a BA degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with developing and implementing enterprise strategies.
  • Solid expertise in implementing Knowledge Management solutions.
  • Proven experience with Knowledge Management tools and implementation strategies.
  • Proven experience with re-engineering initiatives.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Solid experience with SharePoint administration and development activities.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint online.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with senior Government leaders, develop, and present information/decision briefings.
  • Solid organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with federal organizations and interacting with senior civilian and military personnel.

Pay Range: Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
