Work you'll do
Deloitte has been tasked with managing the financial and accounting processes for a working capital fund (WCF) in a federal agency. You will:
o Monitor program spend plans and operational budgets, prepare and process funding packets, track budget statuses, and engage program leadership on changes and objectives.
o Engage stakeholders to build financial projections, identify risks, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
o Identify and implement process improvements and best practices, revising business process documentation based on assessments and input.
o Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decisions and provide recommendations for solvency.
o Track and analyze execution data from accounting systems of record and provide recommendations for improving financial performance and operational efficiency.
o Support other related reporting requirements as needed, including ad hoc financial analysis and research, and prepare data for briefings and presentations.
o Coordinate and analyze commitment, obligation, and expenditure information from accounting systems for execution reviews, providing recommendations for strong financial performance.
o Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
o Foster cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation in financial reporting and processes, regularly review systems and processes, and integrate emerging technologies to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
Required:
o Bachelor's degree
o 5+ years of financial management experience in a Working Capital Fund (WCF) environment
o CDFM, CGFM, or CPA certification
o Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
o Active Secret security clearance required
o Travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred:
o Knowledge of government financial regulations
o Experience using financial management systems and accounting reconciliation
o Advanced MS Excel skills, such as dashboard creation and macro automation
