We are seeking a highly skilled Observability Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, performance, and efficiency of our distributed systems. You will design, implement, and maintain observability solutions, leveraging OpenTelemetry and other telemetry data tools to provide deep insights into system behavior. The candidate will work closely with other software development teams to ensure telemetry data is being logged and traced correctly.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement observability solutions to enhance system monitoring, logging, metrics and tracing.
- Utilize OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to collect, process, and analyze telemetry data from applications and infrastructure.
- Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, and SRE teams to improve system observability and incident response.
- Implement and optimize logging, metrics, and distributed tracing to provide end-to-end visibility of applications.
- Develop dashboards and alerts in tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic to monitor key system performance indicators.
- Continuously improve monitoring strategies to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
- Advocate best practices for observability across engineering teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- U . S C itizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/ SCI Security Clearance
- Strong experience working with telemetry data, including metrics, logs, and traces.
- Proficiency in OpenTelemetry and its implementation across various environments.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Zipkin, Datadog, Splunk or New Relic.
- Solid programming and scripting skills (Python, Go, Java, or similar).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze system performance issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
D e sired Qualifications:
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation with tools like Gitlab CI/CD or Jenkins
- Knowledge or experience with machine learning or AI techniques for data analysis
- Knowledge of security best practices for monitoring and logging.
- Certification in relevant observability, cloud, or DevOps technologies is a plus.
