Syntelligent is seeking full-time Inside Plant/Outside Plant Technician II for upcoming/contingent work.

Location: Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia

Schedule: Day/M-F

Duties will include:

• Reports to the Deputy Program Manager and works alone or with a team
• Installs, repairs, and maintains cable/fiber optic distribution systems to include all manholes, manholes and other supporting infrastructure on the installation
• Works with various types of cabling, including copper and fiber, by pulling, scrapping, testing, and splicing cables
• Installs telecommunications equipment and systems
• Conducts site surveys to identify installation requirements for fiber optic and copper cables
• Performs regular preventive maintenance checks/inspections on network infrastructure and related equipment to ensure smooth operation
• Assists with the management of workload control
• Provides on-call/after normal duty hour support as required
• Solves complex problems by troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and removing/replacing telecommunications equipment and systems
• Provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians
• Develops technical recommendations for modification, replacement or expansion of telecommunications equipment and systems
• Maintains technological standards and investigates/promotes new telecommunications technologies for use by the customer
• Fulfills other work center duties as assigned
• Provides support to other contract work centers in cases of manpower shortages or unexpected requirements.
• The above-mentioned duties require standing for long periods of time, the ability to climb ladders, and the ability to lift overhead 40lbs items
• Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of experience required in outside plant and fiber optic cable maintenance.
• An associate's degree in electronic systems technology is preferred. Equivalent experience can be used as a substitution for this degree.
• Certification: BICSI Installer Technician Level II, Fiber Optic (INSTF) or equivalent

Clearance: US Secret

Mental Requirements: Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long-periods and must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
