Insight Global is actively hiring a Lead Infrastructure Operations Manager to support a large DISA Program onsite in Alexandria Virginia.
The selected candidate will work as the Infrastructure Operations Manager for a 24x7x365 environment with a 20 person team consisting of helpdesk analyst - Senior Engineers/SMEs. Candidates should come from a strong systems and network background, understand development and DevOps; but have transitioned into a Lead or Management role. One big priority for the team is becoming much more mature in Agile, so candidates leading these types of initiatives would be a huge plus.
Minimum job requirements and experience include:
Qualifications
• SECRET clearance OR Top Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 4 years in a leadership role overseeing IT infrastructure and support services.
• IAT LEVEL 2 REQUIRED
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.
• Expertise in IT systems, networking, hardware, and software, including administration and management.
• Strong understanding of ITIL practices, ITSM, and service delivery.
• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to IT operations.
• Highly proficient in cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure) and managing hybrid infrastructure models.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing IT team.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills with a focus on building scalable and innovative IT operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP, etc.) are highly desirable.
Day to Day:
- Experience leading and oversee IT operations and ensuring the infrastructure is reliable, secure, efficient, and aligned with program/Mission goals.
- Experience leading the continuous operation of critical systems, managing a team of IT professionals, and collaborating with various DevOps Teams to support and implement technology solutions that drive organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and direction to the IT operations team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and support for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement IT policies and best practice guides for the organization.
• Oversee the management of IT service support (including helpdesk) and infrastructure (networks, servers, databases, and cloud systems).
• Ensure continuous delivery and operation of IT services through oversight of service level agreements (SLAs) and use of IT service management (ITSM) methodologies.
• Lead IT infrastructure planning, development, and operations, including capacity planning and IT business continuity planning.
• Manage IT assets, including the procurement, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading, and disposal of IT infrastructure across the organization.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
• Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity measures in collaboration with information security team to safeguard information against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations.
• Prepare and maintain documentation of IT systems operations processes, procedures, and configuration.
• Ensure the creation and implementation of a disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
• Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
