Role Overview:
As a Senior Security Control Assessor, you’ll support the security and privacy compliance program for a federal client overseeing more than 200 systems. This role focuses on assessing and advising on privacy controls and documentation. You'll work closely with system owners and agency privacy officials to ensure privacy considerations are built into every stage of the system lifecycle.
Role Highlights:
Position: Senior Security Control Assessor / Technical Evaluator
Location: Arlington, VA (5 days onsite, M–F)
Terms: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire (long-term opportunity)
Pay: $115K-$130K conversion salary
Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance required
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens only
Key Responsibilities:
Support security/privacy compliance for 200+ federal information systems
Prepare and review IPAs, PIAs, SORNs, and privacy control assessments
Advise system owners on privacy and compliance risks
Conduct system security and privacy evaluations
Operate as liaison with agency privacy officials
Apply NIST and RMF guidance to system reviews
Document assessment findings and recommendations
Collaborate on continuous monitoring efforts
Contribute to privacy policy development and risk mitigation strategies
Utilize platforms such as CSAM/JCAM, XACTA, and eMASS
Key Requirements:
Active Secret (or higher) federal security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree – or 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu
6+ years as a Cybersecurity or Security/Network Administrator
Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and RMF
Familiarity with CSAM/JCAM, XACTA, eMASS, etc.
Ability to obtain a DOD 8570 Level 1 cert within 6 months
Preferred Skills:
Current DOD 8570 Level 1 certification
Knowledge in general cybersecurity, cloud security, and DevSecOps
Experience with supply chain and acquisition security
Understanding of GRC, SecCM, and data privacy frameworks
Strong documentation, research, and communication skills
