Job Description
The selected candidate will perform independent review of system requirements and coordinate with engineers to derive initial top-level system design approach. Using engineering and government direction as guidance, will perform independent research to identify system components, equipment and associated cabling and connectors that will meet the requirements and top-level design approach. Will present research findings to the engineering team.
Will also develop detailed design using the approved requirements, top-level design approach, equipment and cabling selection, including the cable block diagram, cable running sheets and Bill of Materials (BOM) for the new system design. Provide draft design products to drafting for final drawing formatting and work directly with drafting personnel to complete the final drawing products. Will prepare and present a system detailed design review to the engineering team and incorporate comments and redlines into the design products and coordinate with drafting to update the products as necessary.
Will independently develop test documentation using the final system design products, equipment manuals and commercial and government reference material and reference material includes specifications, standards and previously approved test documentation for existing system designs. Test documentation includes both test plans and test procedures.
During the system production, will work directly with production personnel to answer technical questions pertaining to the design and/or incorporate updates to the design to correct any deficiencies. Will also work directly with the test team to answer any technical questions, update test documentation, provide assistance with system troubleshooting and on-site testing as required.
This position is located near in North Charleston, SC. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to North Charleston or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School diploma and at least 8 years of related experience
Experience working with military/civilian communications, cryptographic, networking and RF systems
Experience with identification and selection of cabling and connectors
Experience with test and troubleshooting of systems, modules and sub-assemblies
Experience generating and reviewing the technical content of test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, reports, Engineering Change Orders and other documentation
Proficiency using office software such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communications skills
Sound interpersonal skills to include coordinating and negotiating with government customers and company personnel
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Naval C4I experience
Familiarity with CAD software
Bachelor's Degree
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $63662 - $108225
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
